About Dredge Brokers LLC

Dredge Brokers LLC connects buyers and sellers for marine equipment, especially dredges, workboats, pipe, and pipeline components.

We promote safer transactions in the marine industry by providing a neutral third-party dedicated to protecting buyers, sellers, and fellow brokers. With over two decades of successful engagements, our track record speaks for itself, but perhaps our record of repeat clients speaks more convincingly. Over the years, the majority of our buyers return to us as sellers, and vice versa. Buy. Resell. Repeat.

In fact, we are proud that many of our clients have been with us since the beginning of our story, and they continue to transact with us today.

Our Founder’s History
Brantz von Mayer

Dredge Brokers, LLC, opened its doors over 20 years ago. Yet its history in marine equipment began decades prior, when founder, Brantz von Mayer began his first boat-building business in California in the early 1970s.

Brantz came to the trade a second-generation mariner. His father, Brantz Sr, was a captain and marine engineer, who worked internationally on such prestigious projects as the Panama Canal. Brantz followed in his father’s footsteps, also learning engineering – much of it self-taught – by building wood craft and small sailboats. Eventually, his skills graduated to steel fabrication and larger vessels, such as tugboats and barges.

In 1976, Brantz founded B&B Boats with his father, which they ran together until his father’s passing in the 1980s. B&B Boats became Master Marine, and Brantz continued to carry on the family business. He took pride in the fact that many of his first vessels are still in operation after 40 plus years.

Dredge Brokers, LLC
A Four-Generation Maritime Legacy

In 2004, Brantz and his wife moved to Louisiana, where Brantz decided to leverage his decades of experience to found Dredge Brokers – a marine equipment brokerage dedicated to navigating the complex waters of negotiations and providing safer transactions for all parties.

Brantz succeeded in his new endeavor, building upon his reputation as an honest businessman and a true expert in all things marine to build a loyal client base who knew they could always count on Brantz to deliver as promised.

In the 2020s, Brantz began planning his retirement. He hired his grandson, Kellum Odom, to help with office work, and eventually moved to be nearer his daughter, Wintress Odom and her family. He hired Brittany Hardy to assist with sales and began teaching her the ropes. In 2024, Brantz passed away leaving his business to his hardworking successors, the Odom and Hardy families.

For many of our current clients, Brantz was more than a business colleague.  His determination to live his life and run his business with integrity and candor earned him many personal friendships that spanned years, even decades.

Odom and Hardy
A Tradition, Proudly Carried

Today, Dredge Brokers is owned and operated by the Odom and Hardy families, a team of hardworking individuals dedicated to preserving the family tradition.

Although ownership may have changed, the core tenants by which Dredge Brokers conducts business remain the same.

Our team preserves the well-earned reputation that has earned Dredge Brokers the trust of so many in the marine community: a commitment to transparent dealings, trustworthy actions, and always going the extra mile.
