This Liebherr P992 Dipper Dredger features precision DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System), which together with the IHC XPM software enables the dredger to operate with a precision of up to 10 mm. The 1992 model P992 Liebherr excavator can dredge to a depth of 18-meters (59-feet) using a choice of 1-cubic-meter (1.31-cubic-yard), 3-cubic meter (3.92-cubic-yard) or 4.7-cubic-meter (6.15-cubic-yard) buckets.
The pontoon was built in the Netherlands in 1980, and has three spuds which can be laid down for transportation. The spuds can be raised, lowered, or stowed by a single operator from the control cabin. Dredging operations can continue in wave conditions of up to 2.5 m (8-feet). There are accommodations for 6-persons. Accommodations and Operator’s Cabin are conditioned. The dredger has passed Special Survey in April, 2007.
